This entails supporting them through orientation, training, writing and submitting the home study packet, and continuing support after licensure. The position requires the individual to become very familiar with all licensing rules and adoption rules through the Department of Health & Human Services and the Iowa Code. Specific responsibilities include:Supports Relative/Kinship families to keep children stable until permanency and if needed after permanency.Provides In-service training as requested.Writes complete, thorough, and unbiased home study assessments on kinship caregivers recommending licensure and/or adoption approval and submitting timely to HHS.Documents contact with Resource Families timely using appropriate Care Match procedures and required forms.Conducts initial and 20-day relative home studies as assigned.Identify any issues or concerns to the Adoption Permanency Services Supervisor which would affect submission of studies in a timely manner.Documents family contacts timely (as they occur).Travels as necessary to complete functions of job including attending stakeholder meetings, meeting families in their home environment, attending training or support group venues. Meets with families/children in their homes at designated intervals as required by contract at times of day on days of the week in which the family is available, which often will include evenings and weekends.Maintains current and accurate awareness of all Iowa Administrative Code Resource Family licensing/approval standards. Assists Kinship Families with remaining in compliance with standards, and promptly reports non-compliance with IAC, notifying proper supervisor and HHS partners when non-compliance with standards may place a child at risk of unsafe conditions.Assist Kinship resource family with completing required items for renewal of licensure/approval. Completes high quality renewal home study and submits for quality review in a timely manner to ensure on-time submission to HHS. Knowledge of the foster care and adoption systems is preferred.
