Brake Press Operator

Schaefer's Bending Department uses industry leading bending technology to form laser cut parts for electrical enclosure fabrication. The Bending Department houses a fully automated bending work center adapted for high volume versatility, supplemented with a range of CNC press brakes, to achieve Schaefer's signature customization. The seasoned Bending Department is staffed with a comprehensive operator experience of over 50 years. Schaefer's fast-paced high-energy work environment is built around a culture of employee centered development, team focused engagement, and lean manufacturing principles.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Correctly select specific product folding tool.Program, operate, and adjust CNC controls.Read and interpret production drawings and other engineering aids. Use precision measurement tools to check for dimensional part accuracy. Make routine decisions and use analytical strategies to solve nonconformance issues.Perform assigned work within time standards and quality expectations.Account for time and work completed through labor reporting system.Report and document basic material, production, and quality control issues.Conduct and document operator preventative maintenance as scheduled. Report and document equipment malfunction to the Maintenance Department and direct supervisor. Work over-time, as needed, to meet departmental production demands.EXPERIENCE:Folder / Press Brake Operator: 1 year Manufacturing experience: 1 year PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of materials weighing up to 75 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
