There is an open position as Admissions Coordinator for the MD Program in the Medical School Admissions Office. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this position is the front-line of services, provides customer service to candidates, and manages the prospective student relationship from the prospect stage through the enrollment stage. The core responsibilities of this role are typically to answer routine inquiries over the phone, online, and in person, to provide information to prospective students on basic academic program offerings and admission requirements, to process and track new applications (and review for completeness), to maintain data in systems, to prepare for and participate in admissions events that represent the Admissions function, like interview days and visits, and to maintain schedules. This position may also recruit for and schedule interviews, order catering, process payments and provide general admissions support.

Additional duties include:

  • Processes incoming correspondences; Updates student information system (Banner) and other internal databases; Runs and develops reports, and provides analyses as needed.
  • Prepares select files for committee review, and executes electronic decisions and communications of applicant status change(s).
  • Provides exceptional customer service to prospective students, active applicants, and accepted students.
  • Coordinates or hosts tours, off-campus and on-campus events, and or interactions; Provides support to events, including but not limited to: scheduling, promoting, and providing technical support with the use of presentation platforms and software.
  • Provides informational presentations to groups both in-person and virtually, touring the facilities, and responding to emails and phone conversations.
  • Provides reception/front-desk coverage support, greets, and assists both individual and small groups visiting the School of Medicine.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exemplary customer service skills, preferably in higher education (prospective students, current students, faculty and or staff).
  • Respect for confidentiality; The role demands an exemplary level of discretion
  • Comfortability in public speaking and providing informational tours.

Hiring Range

$19.29 - $25.13
