Position Summary and Responsibilities:
Teledyne Brown Engineering (TBE) is hiring an experienced Software Test Engineer to join our Medical Modeling and Simulation (MM&S) team in support of Naval Health Research Center (NHRC). The team provides software engineering, model and simulation development, analysis, technical support, and training to support medical systems analyses, logistics analyses, operational risk assessments, and theater medical course of action assessments across the Department of Defense (DoD).
The NHRC Software Test Engineer will test military medical planning software developed by the MM&S team by both creating and executing test procedures.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Reviewing software requirementsPreparing/reviewing test casesPreparing/reviewing test proceduresConducting software test and data analysesEvaluating test resultsReporting software defectsGenerating test reportsProviding feedback to software development team.Education Requirements :
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, math, or related field.
Experience Requirements :
Requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
Skill Requirements :
Ability to quickly ascertain expected software functionality and utilize this knowledge to develop a comprehensive testing approach.Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills with an ability to independently analyze configurations and system behaviors via output data and/or review of applicable software source code.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced testing environment, while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to describe issues to both the software development team and technical leadership.Ability to complete tasks on time and in compliance with AS9100 and CMMI Level 3 processes/procedures.Preferred Skills/ Experience :
Experience with TestRail or similar test management softwareExperience with Microsoft Azure DevOps or similar project management systemFamiliarity with programming or scripting in any languageExperience extracting data using Structured Query Language (SQL)Experience developing Test Plans, Test Procedures, and Test ReportsFormal training and/or certification in software testingFamiliarity with the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)Experience working within the Department of DefenseExperience working within the Military Health SystemExperience using modeling and simulation softwareOther Requirements :
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
