It is a peaceful, scenic, community-oriented area with an abundance of amenities to suit every taste.JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSScheduled Weekly Hours: 40Job Summary:The Sterile Processing / OR Liaison is responsible for the collaboration and coordination between the OR, Sterile Processing, vendors, and surgeons. Responsibilities include case instrumentation, turn-over efficiency, instrument management, sterile processing education & competencies according to professional standards e.g., AAMI & AORN.Responsible for assuring quality care and outcomes with the disinfection and sterilization practices of St Tammany Health System.May serve as a backup to the Sterile Processing Supervisor in coordinating, delegating, and supervising the care provided by the Sterile Processing team.Facilitates problem resolution, collaborates, and serves as the "point person" with the Surgery Management team, OR Director, vendors, and physicians. Minimum Qualifications: Surgical Technician with a minimum of 2 years OR / Sterile Processing experience. Surgical Technician must be a graduate from an accredited program or military training equivalent. Sterile Processing Certification (CBSPD or CRCST) within 6 months of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an inpatient acute care facility is preferred. Management/Supervisory experience, preferred. Physical Demands:Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
