Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Bookkeeping Specialist to join our client's team. In this role, you will not only maintain accurate financial records but also serve as a key point of contact for clients. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset are essential, as you will work closely with both clients and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process with precision and attention to detail.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients, addressing inquiries and resolving any bookkeeping-related issues.
- Process accounts receivable/payable and manage payroll in a timely and efficient manner.
- Reconcile accounts and review ledgers to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
- Prepare accurate and clear financial reports for clients, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare sales tax returns, income and expense returns, personal property tax declarations and other filings.
- Foster strong relationships with clients through excellent service, regular follow-ups, and timely responses to queries.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Certificate in Bookkeeping, or a minimum of 3 years' experience in Bookkeeping.
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with a strong focus/comfort on customer service.
- Proficiency in accounting software, i.e.: QuickBooks (desktop or online).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-accountants.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for delivering high-quality work.
Compensation
- This is a benefits eligible, hourly position paying $20-30/hr. Overtime is expected during tax season, but traditional work hours are 8:30-5:00 PM. Summer Friday's - close at noon. Pay will be consistent with education and experience.
This position is full time on-site, based on the shoreline.
