Payroll Specialist

Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. With over 700 employees on payroll and a transition to ADP scheduled, the Payroll Specialist will be instrumental in ensuring payroll runs smoothly. This position offers support from another payroll processor, and with the current Payroll Manager retiring in January 2025, the Payroll Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the transition is seamless.

Compensation

$65,000-$85,000/year with performance-based bonuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll processing for 700 employees, including union and non-union, exempt, and non-exempt workers.
  • Collaborate with the existing payroll team to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the company's transition to ADP payroll systems, including training and data migration.
  • Provide assistance to the Payroll Manager in ensuring all payroll processes meet legal and company standards.
  • Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist with payroll audits and reporting, working alongside finance and HR teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Proficiency with ADP (or similar payroll systems) and solid understanding of payroll laws.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines during payroll cycles.
  • Strong collaboration skills, especially in supporting a payroll team.
