Machine Operator - Thermoforming 3rd Shift

Seda North America is looking for a 3rd shift (M-F, 11p to 7a) Machine Operator - Thermoforming. The operator will use equipment to shape, trim and gauge plastic sheets to supply thermoforming operations plastic products for use in food packaging understanding and supporting total manufacturing flow in support of meeting/exceeding customer's needs while meeting company standards for quality, efficiency and safety.

1. Specific Duties
Adjust machine components to regulate speed, pressure, temperatures, amounts, dimensions and flow of materials.
Perform quality checks according to established procedures and ensure all standards are being met.
Examine measure and weigh materials or product to verify conformance to standards using measuring devices such as templates, micrometers or scales.
Monitor machine operations and observe light and gauges in order to detect malfunctions.
Verify that parameters set on the machine are correct for each specific product and material, adjusting when corrections during production runs are necessary.
Adjust controls to regulate machine functions.
Select and install machine components such as dies, molds and cutters, according to specifications using hand tools and measuring devices.
Record and maintain data related to downtime, including amount of time, reason for downtime and actions to correct the problem.
Keep all waste and scrap levels within company guidelines.
Record and maintain production data such as meter readings, quantities, types, and dimensions of materials produced.
Notify supervisors when produced materials fail to meet standards.
Keep work area clean, organized and free of debris to maintain a safe facility.
Follow all HACCP and good manufacturing practices (GMP's)
Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws
Perform other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor
2. Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of Extrusion lines process (particularly for the production of polystyrene rolls for Thermoforming application)
Knowledge of Thermoforming Machinery Process and Regrinding systems
Knowledge of Automated Dispensing Systems
Ability to perform small Electrical / Mechanical maintenance independently
Superior trouble shooting skills
Quick learning aptitude
Strong math skills (measurements, percentages, calculate footage)
Mechanical aptitude
Methodical / structured approach to troubleshooting.
Knowledge of material batch blending systems.
Attention to detail
3. Education and Experience:
Associate Degree Preferred
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience
