This position demands a strategic thinker with extensive experience in financial management, who will lead the FP&A team in delivering actionable insights and analysis to drive growth and profitability in alignment with SMX’s objectives.Direct the development of financial forecasts, budgets and long-term strategic planning initiatives. Collaborate with the executive team to determine financial goals and operational plans that align with the overall company strategyOversee the monthly reporting processes, providing comprehensive analyses of financial performance. Identify trends, variances, and actionable insights to inform decision-making and enhance organizational performanceManage and optimize the FP&A function; supervise in the creation of reports, software implementation, and tools for budgeting and forecastingBuild and mento a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Ensure team members are equipped with the skills necessary to perform effectively and develop their careers within the organizationDrive change throughout the business by providing strong, data driven, analytical leadershipManage the production of existing and development of new reporting tools (dashboards, scorecards, bridges, etc.) and KPIs that will deliver insight into revenue and operating expense trends, track capital project spending, headcount, and surface risks/opportunitiesRequired Skills & ExperienceBachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred, with at least 2 years as a Director of Finance or higherProven track record in financial modeling, forecasting and strategic planningStrong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to distill complex financial information with clear insightsExceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organizationDeep FP&A experience; strengths in reporting, forecasting, modeling, and deep-dive business analyses; experience identifying and tracking KPIs and utilizing the data to drive future strategyChampion for ethical business practices in all areasDesired Skills & ExperienceCapacity to serve as a thought partner to the CEO, CFO, Board of Directors, and private equity partner, helping to inform, influence, and drive key business decisions; ability to impact the company from a financial, strategic, and operational standpointHigh level of intellectual curiosity; “do-er” mentalityExceptional communication; ability to inform and influence at all levels internally and externallyAbility to analyze complex financial matters and simplify them into concise recommendationsHigh-energy and hands-on, with a “roll-up-the-sleeves” mentality; self-starter with the ability to work effectively with limited resources and a high tolerance for ambiguityFinancial system management experience, including business process mapping and improvementNatural bias towards speaking in numbers and using data to support decision-making; ability to communicate financial information in a user-friendly formatApplication Deadline: November 4, 2024#LI-REMOTEThe SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
