Compensation:

Salary Range (Grade A/890): $119,377 - $169,439.

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for providing oversight and leadership of the maintenance support programs for Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) and other technology related systems in the Department of Subways (DOS). With the size of the upcoming CBTC program and other technology related systems and with these systems spanning across DOS operating divisions, this position will take the lead in coordinating with MTA Construction & Development (C&D) and DOS operating divisions to plan for life cycle maintenance of these systems. The position will also be responsible for coordinating and leading various system support initiatives aimed at keeping CBTC assets in a state of good repair and ensuring that all initiatives and associated impacts are appropriately communicated with all stakeholders. The selected candidate will:

Lead DOS operating divisions in collaborating with MTA C&D to ensure that short- and long-term maintenance support is included as part of the acquisition contracts and ensure that life cycle costing is taken into consideration when selecting systems and suppliers. Coordinate with DOS operating divisions to ensure that appropriate maintenance deliverables and associated timing are in line with the divisions’ maintenance plans and goals. Work with the operating divisions to assess the useful life of the systems and develop systems replacement strategies.

Act as the central point for coordinating with MTA C&D and DOS operating divisions on all matters relating to maintenance and ensure that CBTC contractual obligations and deliverables with respect to manuals, training, and tools are fulfilled in a timely manner that would allow DOS operating divisions to prepare for their maintenance responsibilities.

Support DOS operating divisions with their CBTC maintenance contracts including leading DOS operating divisions in reviewing and assessing technical submittals for task orders for system enhancements and modifications. Review changes and identify possible impacts to other areas. Coordinate with DOS divisions C&D, and MTA IT for the planning, scheduling and implementation of systems enhancements required for service improvements or to maintain the systems in a state of good repair.

Manage staff and provide briefings to senior management

Education and Experience:

A baccalaureate degree in Public Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Project Management, Engineering, or a satisfactory equivalent and ten (10) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience, seven (7) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity.

Selection Method:

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
