OverviewPark & Rec, a San Diego cocktail bar and entertainment venue is looking for our next great general manager. Our mission is to provide an excellent hospitality experience focused on quality cocktails, curated entertainment, and a sense of place in the community.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and the cocktail industry, with a focus on bar operations. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, entertainment, and overall structure of a top flight cocktail program.
Responsibilities
Day-to-day Operations
· Implement general business plan and make decisions regarding ongoing operational matters
· Manage and oversee on-site maintenance and activities
· Ensure positive guest service in all areas; respond quickly to guest concerns
· Ensure a safe working and guest environment
· Product ordering and inventory
· Oversight of bar program, prep and systems
· Music and entertainment programming and event planning
Financial
· Work with ownership on creation and implementation of yearly budget
· Work with ownership, and accountants to oversee weekly and monthly P&L
· Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll admin duties are completed accurately
· Implement cost controls and necessary reporting requirements, including forecast reports, adherence to budget, and assisting with other reports as necessary
· Provide comment and feedback regarding financial impact of operations; seek to find improvements in labor, beverage, supplies and other expenses
· Work with music and entertainment to create and maintain event budgets
HR
· Coordinate bartender/barback/security scheduling
· Direct hiring, supervision and termination of employees
· Manage employee issues
· Ensures that business practices are within the law and consistent with policies and procedures
· Serve as role model and set positive example for team
Other
· Work with local community groups and neighborhood associations
· Assist ownership with marketing and PR efforts
· Performs all other job related duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Experience
Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a similar managerial role within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, inventory control, and food handling practices.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team effectively.
Proficient in excel, Google Docs, word.
Deep knowledge of Toast or similar POS systems
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
