Registered Nurse - Intensive Care NurseryIntensive Care Nursery (Level IV NICU)Full TimeJob SummaryUtilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.Department DescriptionThe Intensive Care Nursery (ICN), founded in 1964, is a regional tertiary center and has the proud distinction of being one of the first neonatal intensive care units in the world. In addition to caring for extremely premature infants, the ICN also cares for infants with congenital anomalies in need of evaluation and surgical interventions.The ICN provides state of the art care for infants with neurological, gastrointestinal, renal and skeletal, cardiac and respiratory diseases. We are one of a few centers in Northern California that provides ECMO and are recognized as an ECMO Center of Excellence.Staff nurses are the backbone of the ICN. They provide comprehensive, compassionate and highly specialized care to the most fragile of infants and their families.Required QualificationsA minimum of two years of recent clinical RN experience in a level IV or level III Intensive Care Nursery with a surgical patient population.Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California.Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.Active American Heart Association NRP Certification.Proficiency in providing care for extreme low birth weight infants and neonates with congenital anomalies.This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.Preferred QualificationsBSN.License/CertificationActive Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California.Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.Active American Heart Association NRP Certification.About UCSFAt UCSF Health, our mission of innovative patient care, advanced technology and pioneering research is redefining what's possible for the patients we serve.Pride ValuesUCSF is a diverse community made of people with many skills and talents.
