Oct 18, 2024Clinical Nurse InformaticistCS Nursing InformaticsFull Time81758BRJob SummaryThe Clinical Nurse Informaticist (CNI) is a clinical leader in the Department of Health Informatics at UCSF Health who serves as the liaison for health IT efforts supporting clinical workflows and associated information systems requirements in all areas that support digital solutions in the clinical setting. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the analysis, design, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of assigned EHR and other IT projects. Advanced knowledge and skills required for this role include clinical relevancy and in-depth knowledge and expertise in clinical workflows, informatics, evidence-based practice, consultation, and leadership. These competencies are essential to advance the practice, professional development, and support of nursing practice and care management activities across the care continuum.Serves as a champion for complex clinical projects and systems that support digital solutions in patient engagement and clinical care delivery. Involves advanced expertise in the design, implementation, integration, and ongoing evolution and adoption of information systems that enhance patient experience and health system priorities. Acts as the liaison to align clinical and Clinical Systems standards with departmental workflows, processes, and policies. Influences outcomes by providing expert consultation to all care providers and implementing improvements in information systems.Clinical nurse leader for a program or area of nursing practice. Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills within major areas of focus, such as patient/family, nurses and nursing practice, and the organization/system. Typically partners with the nurse manager in leading the nursing clinical practice area. This is the journey level for an advanced practice clinical nurse specialist.Salary InformationThe salary range for this position is $209,447 - $235,840 (Annual Rate). The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.Required QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience in nursing informatics, information systems, or clinical experience in the specialty area.In-depth knowledge of one or more clinical specialty areas, to include diagnoses, treatments, standards of practice and patient/family educational consulting and resources.Advanced knowledge of methodology for conducting evidence-based research, data collection, analysis, and reporting.Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess highly-complex issues and develop multiple options for resolution.Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide education, training, and direction to nursing staff, and to develop positive working relationships with patients, families, employees, and outside agencies as required.
