Our company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to focus on Federal Contracts in the Energy industry. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in building and maintaining strong relationships within the federal sector, and extensive knowledge of the energy industry. They will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, driving growth and profitability. If you are a strategic thinker, have a knack for identifying opportunities and can build and nurture long-lasting relationships, and an understanding of government contracting, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities in the federal sector within the energy industry.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the federal government and energy sector.
  3. Develop and present compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients.
  4. Drive the entire sales process: target top prospects, identify solutions, negotiate, and close.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs are met and exceeded.
  6. Stay abreast of industry trends, competition, and new opportunities.
  7. Develop a deep understanding of federal contracts and regulations in the energy sector.
  8. Provide strategic direction and guidance based on market trends and competitive landscape.
  9. Ensure all business activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethics.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or a related field within the energy sector.
  3. Proven experience in securing federal contracts.
  4. Exceptional relationship building skills, with a focus on nurturing and developing new business opportunities.
  5. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence at all levels of an organization.
  6. Strong understanding of the energy industry, federal contracts, and regulations.
  7. Proven ability to meet and exceed business development goals.
  8. Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and prospects.
  9. Self-motivated, driven, and committed to delivering results.
  10. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  11. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  12. High level of integrity and professionalism.
