This person will manage the accounts payable function, payroll function, monthly pre-closing of accounts and preparation of reports.The ideal candidate possesses team capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.Responsibilities: Performs accounting functions including routing invoices for approval, prepare check requests for approval and enter A/P information in system. Ensures timely payment of vendor invoices and maintains accurate records and control reports. Partners with other team members to help with month-end close. Works with accounting firm on filing of annual tax returns. Prepares year-end audit materials. Pulls weekly and monthly reports from company database. Always maintains confidentiality of company finances. Performs monthly requisitions of projects. Maintains insurance files for all projects in the contract department. Conducts payment follow-ups on various projects. Handles storage invoices for contract projects. Performs other administrative and data entry duties as needed. Meet Corporate accounting objectives and deadlines. Perform full cycle month-end and year-end close process. Record and analyze intercompany transactions. Analyze and maintain general ledger accounts. Assist to prepare monthly financial reports for multiple entities. Assist with annual internal auditing. Assist preparation and evaluation of budgets and other financial operating reports. Analysis of Sales, Costs, and variances to budget to submit and to support with Director of Finance. Provide additional support to head of finance to ensure the company’s accounting and organizational needs are met. Manage the monthly financial pre-close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation. Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes. Continued focus on improving ERP system efficiencies and business practices. Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses. Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns. Work with the Director of Finance regarding Audit, Tax and Treasury Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and Analytics or similar degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting role. Experience in a CPA firm Experience in the retail industry a plus.
