Job Purpose:The South Carolina Department of Education is seeking a Business Analyst & Technical Writer to drive documentation processes and standards to enhance efficiency, quality, and usability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing innovative solutions and continuously improving documentation standards and practice that support the Agency's strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:Lead the planning, authoring, and maintenance of comprehensive procedure documentation for multiple office processes, including manuals, guides, knowledgebase articles, reports, dashboards, workflows, and other supporting content as needed.Proactively engage with cross-functional teams to collect process details, identify workflows, and gain a deep understanding of relevant topics, leveraging advanced collaboration tools and techniques.Conduct in-depth interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather process information and solicit feedback, ensuring content accuracy and completeness through innovative data collection methods.Translate complex concepts into user-friendly documentation for a diverse audience, including management, other offices, districts, and external agencies, utilizing the latest in content management and delivery technologies.Ensure all documentation complies with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, employing state-of-the-art compliance and quality assurance tools.Actively participate in project meetings, technical discussions, and document review and approval processes, driving the adoption of cutting-edge project management and collaboration platforms.Continuously improve documentation processes and standards to enhance efficiency, quality, and usability, by implementing the latest advancements in documentation technology and best practices.Collaborate with other business analysts to review existing documentation, and lead research and facilitation of grant and requests for proposals (RFP) writing to support office initiatives, using advanced research tools and methodologies.Foster strong partnerships with other South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) offices and external agencies on various initiatives, utilizing innovative communication and collaboration technologies to drive success.This position is located in the Office of Data Analysis.Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and experience in computer system development and modification. A bachelor's degree in a related area may substitute for the required work experience.Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Technical Writing, or a related field; or commensurate training and/or experience in process documentation, technical writing, or a similar role.Additional Comments
