Job Responsibilities
This is an internal posting for current SCDPS employees only.
Planning, designing, developing, testing, deployment, maintenance and documentation of moderately complex to complex computer applications.
Provide application support for enterprise computer applications by efficiently utilizing the helpdesk ticketing software.
Application programming, development, and configuring software needed to automate applications and revise existing systems.
Assist in maintaining application webservers, application infrastructure, implement system checks, perform software and application updates and assist in retirement of legacy systems.
Administrator of applications and manage user accounts for computer applications.
Assist in implementation of enterprise computer applications by attending project meetings and assisting in the Application Development lifecycle (analysis, planning, designing, developing, testing, integrating and maintenance) research into feasibility of new designs, solutions and proposed implementations.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required work experience.
Additional Requirements Moderate application-level knowledge of capabilities, programming techniques, and intricacies of information systems. Moderate knowledge of computer languages.
Moderate application-level ability to write and revise computer programs. Moderate application-level ability to understand and carry out technical instructions and requests. Moderate application-level ability to analyze and reduce to logical order complex technical data.
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work effectively with users, vendors, and other IT personnel. Ability to assist with planning, directing, instructing, and reviewing the work of technical personnel on a small scale.
Additional Comments
Employee will be under direct supervision of the Enterprise Software and Services Manager. The employee will be expected to show independence in resolving beginner to intermediate level tasks. The employee will be expected to assist with advanced level tasks. The employee will receive opportunity to show independence on advanced level tasks if they choose.
This job is 100% onsite at the SCDPS headquarters in Blythewood. SC. Employee is expected to occasionally work during off hours or tasks related to disaster support, disaster recovery testing, application updates, upgrades and other maintenance. Employee may be expected to travel to remote sites and attend out-of-state conferences.
