MISSION:I t is the mission of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to impact and transform young lives, strengthen families, and support safer communities through targeted prevention and rehabilitation.

JOB PURPOSE:Under limited supervision, this position provides solutions to end user computer and networking problems of a moderate to complex nature to ensure end user productivity. The position provides guidance to users in use of computer hardware and software and provides light training in use of hardware and software.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responds to Desk Pro tickets, provides onsite technical assistance and follow up to resolution; diagnoses and repairs simple to moderately complex problems.

Installs, configures, and maintains agency computer hardware and software.

Assists with the procurement of end user equipment from state approved vendors.

Assists with invoice, billing and purchase orders verification.

Maintains software configurations, computer images, and software installation for approved users.

Assists with migrating from SCCM to In-tune.

Manages the scheduling of the installation of equipment with end users.

Manages the shipping and receipt of end user devices and services from vendors.

Manages the surplus of end user devices such as desktop computer, laptops, printers, access points, switches, and other network devices.

Installation, configuration, and training on use of VoIP phones. Installs, configures, and maintains Airwatch Mobile Device Manager on all agency-issued mobile devices.

Perform other related job duties as required or requested by supervisor.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

STATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Basic to moderate knowledge of and skilled in a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols and equipment used in customer organizations.

Basic to moderately complex problem solving and analytical methods.

Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal with customers, peers, and management.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.

Must be able to climb a ladder, reach, bend, stoop, and crawl; work in an environment with incarcerated youth; and be able to drive.

This position will act with independence, receiving minimal supervision.

This position requires discretion, confidentially and decisiveness.

This position requires customer service skills and end user assistance.

This position performs job duties relating to the custody, control, transportation, or recapture of youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice and the employee may have direct and indirect contact with youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Training applicable to these duties will be provided.Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in office automation systems, data communication system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing. Experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
