Job Details:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Permanent Assistant Controller with a strong background in Construction Project Accounting to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to the financial planning and decision-making process within our organization, with a primary focus on overseeing all aspects of project accounting and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the construction industry and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of project accounting, including preparing and analyzing monthly project financial reports.
2. Manage fixed assets, ensuring accurate recording and reporting.
3. Utilize software such as Viewpoint Vista and Sage for project accounting and financial reporting.
4. Apply the percentage of completion method for revenue recognition and monitor percent project cost.
5. Prepare and submit AIA documents and T&M reports.
6. Manage bank draws and ensure timely and accurate AIA submissions.
7. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.
8. Develop and implement accounting procedures and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
9. Assist with year-end audits and other financial reviews.
10. Provide financial expertise and strategic insights to support business decisions.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficient in accounting software, including Viewpoint Vista and Sage.
4. Solid understanding of construction accounting principles, including the percentage of completion method and percent project cost.
5. Experience with AIA documents, T&M reports, and bank draws.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
