Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Management:

Oversee daily and monthly accounting operations, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring integrity of financial data.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Assist in preparing financial reports for management and external stakeholders.

Audit and Compliance:

Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, providing documentation, and resolving queries.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Stay updated on accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and ensure financial reporting aligns with them.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.

Analyze variances between actuals and budgets and provide insights to management.

Month-End and Year-End Close:

Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as necessary.

Tax Compliance:

Manage tax filings and ensure timely payment of taxes (sales tax, income tax, etc.).

Work with external tax advisors on tax planning and filing.

Accounts Payable and Receivable Oversight:

Review and approve invoices, payments, and customer billings.

Ensure proper tracking of receivables and follow up on outstanding invoices.

Process Improvement:

Continuously review accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Implement best practices in accounting and financial management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, general ledger, and tax compliance.

Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Experience with audits and tax filings.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in managing or mentoring junior accountants.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
