Overview:

Our client provides automated, cloud-based software for financial operations and seeks an accomplished

Sr. Payroll Specialist .

*** Candidate must be authorized to work in the USA without requiring sponsorship ***

Location:

6220 America Center Dr Suite 100, San Jose, CA 95002

Duration:

3 months contract with the possibility of extension or conversion to FTE role

Notes:

Must be available to work the full 3 months without time off.

Hybrid role: 2 days in office (Tue & Thur).

Description:

Prepare and process end-to-end multi-state payrolls for over 2000 employees.

Process and submit employee equity transactions and related tax withholding through Workday Payroll.

Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all payroll remittances and reporting.

Proven experience with year-end close and W-2 processing.

Ensure compliance with payroll SOX controls and maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations.

Provide timely responses to inquiries from HR, accounting, managers, employees, government, and other third-party agencies utilizing knowledge and interpretation of policies, procedures, and legislation.

Conduct audits of data changes and requests to ensure compliance with company policy and practices.

Manage time and attendance workflow to ensure all time sheets, time off requests, and other payroll data are received timely and are accurate, complete, and in compliance with state and federal payroll standards.

Handle day-to-day payroll activities and resolve payroll-related discrepancies.

Qualifications:

Experience with processing larger payrolls (public companies with 2000+ employees).

Must have US Workday Payroll and Workday Time and Attendance experience.

Payroll accounting experience.

Must know how to process end-to-end payroll in Workday.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.

10+ years of experience processing end-to-end payroll and equity transactions.

Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Ability to think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, and as part of a team.

Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and follow through to execute all tasks.

Commitment to customer service with a strong sense of ownership for projects and results.

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work within tight deadlines.

Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and G-Suite.

Pay:

$50.00 - $56.00 per hour
