Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is expected to use Waterfall and/or Scrum to lead project teams that are executing strategic projects and/or epics. This person will also help coach others in the organization on Agile principles.
ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of project, ensure milestones are reached and deadlines are met throughout project lifecycleDevelops project plans identifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans/obstacle remediation, and allocation of available resourcesResponsible for maintaining current and complete project management data and documents in enterprise systemsReports actual to budgets, helps balance the prioritization of technical debt against new feature innovation and software/product/project deliveryEffectively communicates relevant project information to superiors and peers by preparing project status reports keeping management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues improving transparency and radiating informationFacilitate meetings and other forums such as Planning, Refinement, Review and Retrospective with participants/stakeholders to drive toward desired outcomes within prescribed timeframesActively works with Product Owner(s) to ensure the product backlog maintains precision for Sprint planning and forecastingGuides and coaches the scrum team and organization on how to apply and use the Agile Methodology and Scrum principlesSECONDARY DUTIES:
Prepares and presents the statement of work and proposals for identified clients in conjunction with account managementAddress team dynamics, resolve conflict and resource constraintsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree preferredOne or more of the following certifications:First or Second Level Scrum Master Certification (PSM I/II, CSM/A-CSM)Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM)Two (2) years Scrum Master experienceCOMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Process orientation and conceptual understanding of project management must have expertise in leveraging different types of project management practicesMust have experience working in Agile delivery methodologyMust be able to use a computer without the assistance of othersShould have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft SharePointSolid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skillsAbility to create a positive work/team environmentEffectively manage conflict while achieving maximum resultsAbility to coordinate effective collaboration across a teamStrong analytical skills, good judgment and decision-making abilityCommitment to being part of a team and working within a diverse environmentCommitted to self-development growth and expanding his/her knowledgebaseAbility to be highly organized and effective working in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills for developing relationships with individuals and teams across the company ranging from technical product teams to senior leadershipSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
