Network Administrator
Reports To:
Technology Director
The Network Administrator's role is to ensure the stable operation of the computer network and server infrastructure. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. This person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide tech staff and end user training where required.
Network Administrator Job DescriptionSetup, configuration, and administration/maintenance of LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN hardware and software (firewalls, routers, switches, access points, wiring racks).Maintain on-premise Windows Servers, including patch, certificate and security managementAdministration of telco systems inventory (Avaya IP Office, SIP and VoIP endpoints) including add/move/change events and configurationsProvide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting network connectivity issues, setting up new network devices, and resolving security-related issues.Monitor, evaluate and maximize network operation metrics to ensure optimal performance.Install, configure and maintain both on-premise and Azure Active Directory environments including user, group policy and role management.Maintain on-premise Windows Server, including patch and security managementAdminister Google Workspace environmentAdminister Single Sign On (SSO) environmentDevelop and maintain documentation related to network infrastructure, policies, and procedures. This includes creating network diagrams, maintaining an inventory of network hardware and software, and keeping network-related policies up to date.Provide training as needed.Qualifications/Experience
2+ years of administering network infrastructuresThe ability to manage, control and monitor server infrastructuresProven professional customer service skillsCertifications and Training
Associate Degree in Computer Technology or related fieldJuniper/Mist training, Cisco CCNA, and/or Network + is/are preferred
WAGES/SALARY LEVEL : As established by BCBOE policy
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
240 days per year, 8 hour work day
Evaluation : Performance evaluated biannually by the Technology Director
