Position Summary

Position for Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. The Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for supporting all activities related to the system architecture including cloud and datacenter infrastructure. The role includes designing cloud infrastructure, server, network, and storage configurations, documenting, maintaining and upgrading existing systems.

The Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for monitoring the cloud and datacenter infrastructure and related systems for performance and integrity, ensuring that all systems are kept current regarding patch levels, software revisions, and feature sets. Candidates should be customer-oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing efficient use of computing resources. This position requires someone that is able to follow a problem to its resolution and assist with providing root cause for severe and recurring issues. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

Essential Job Functions

Takes part in the design, deployment, and support of company infrastructure, ensuring best practices for system resiliencyManage and deploy cloud infrastructure, leveraging the full suite of Microsoft Azure and AWS resourcesSchedules and performs upgrades as needed to all infrastructure/security hardware and softwareUtilizes change management when performing tasks and projects, ensuring proper documentation, knowledge sharing, and communicationSupport, manage, and deploy Azure Solutions and ServicesSupport, manage, and deploy Microsoft Intune solutions leveraging Autopilot.Support and manage Office 365 users/Exchange Online/OneDrive and Teams environmentsPractical understanding of various enterprise technologies such as Email and Email Security, including spam filtering, Advance Threat Protection, Voice over IP and general telephony, backup and recovery, productivity and collaboration, databases, and various cloud offeringsSupport, deploy, and manage Microsoft O365 Messaging and associated technologiesDevelop and maintain infrastructure diagrams and documentationConduct regular vulnerability assessments on systems and networks, identify weaknesses, and recommend security improvementsTakes part in the implementation and testing of DR infrastructurePrioritize tasks and projects as required in a fast-paced environmentAct as an escalation point for other support teamsProvide in-person and remote technical support to usersAbility to escalate and open tickets with vendor support teams and work issues to full resolutionMaintain an inventory of deployed hardware, software installations, and available equipmentWork with hardware and software vendors to resolve issues and implement new productsManage incident tickets, ensuring proper SLA is maintained for each ticket, and providing proper follow-up with end usersMaximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outagesParticipate in an on-call rotation, being available outside regular business hours to promptly address critical incidentsThis job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the position. Minimum Qualifications

College degree in Information Systems or related field8+ years of related cloud and systems infrastructure related experienceExperience with various Azure and AWS IaaS/PaaS/SaaS servicesAbility to templatize cloud deploymentsExperience with deploying Microsoft Windows servers and workstationsAbility to manage Active Directory and Azure AD, including policiesUnderstanding of VLANs, IPSEC Tunnels and Protocols, Virtual Networks, and Routing & SwitchingProficiency in optimizing cloud costs, resource utilization, and security related to cloud environmentsExperience with SSO, MFA, IAM, radius, certificatesKnowledge of various storage technologies and ability to optimize storage performance and troubleshoot performance issuesProficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating management tasksExperience with Vmware and other virtual infrastructure softwareUnderstanding of cybersecurity best practices and incident managementAbility to perform patching, system backups and recovery of cloud and on-premises infrastructureAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to problem solve and assist while having a great customer service attitudePhysical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
