Job Description Code: 6C.090 Division/Department: Technology and Information Services Pay Grade: T-4 Pay Type: Salaried; Exempt Retirement: TRS Contract Work Year: 235 Days Reports To: Executive Director, Student Information Services Evaluation Instrument: BEI MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Successful experience implementing and supporting enterprise-level applications. Experience developing and managing enterprise database systems. Demonstrated ability to assess report requirements and produce accurate report data in a timely manner. GOAL Review, evaluate, implement and maintain the school district's software packages. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze adopted application software and make recommendations and adaptations for its effective use by District personnel. Recommend and evaluate hardware that will accommodate critical applications. Consult with end-users to identify needs related to job functions and responsibilities. Design transactional processes or procedures for the migration of data. Create custom applications and batch processes that streamline the effectiveness of the business process. Provide technical support for business applications and data processes to end-users. Provide technical assistance to K-12 teachers and support personnel on administrative hardware and software to ensure effective utilization. Troubleshoot data and application problems. Assist with the maintenance and configuration of software. Assist the supervisor in maintaining, gathering and organizing data and statistics requested by school or central office personnel. Develop data reporting standards and prepare reports as required. Develop methods of improved data quality within the school district's enterprise applications. Design, develop and deliver training for administrative technology services. Review, recommend and provide the tools and resources necessary to ensure the operability and interoperability of all database systems. Maintain backups of critical data and regularly test the integrity of the backed-up information for accessibility and usefulness. Develop and execute contingency plans for failed or severely damaged critical systems. Research and recommend new and emerging technologies that have potential in the K-12 arena. Maintain strong communication channels with district-level departments and schools. Assess the training needs through the analysis of application development and implementation. Serve on district committees as assigned. Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of Cherokee County School System. Professionally represent the Cherokee County School District at meetings, conferences and conventions. Interact effectively with the general public, staff members, students, teachers, parents and administrators, using tact and good judgment. Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position. Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner. Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments. Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility. Ensure adherence to good safety procedures. Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
