Cost Accountant
who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of financial performance, budgeting, and cost variance analysis.Position Overview:
As a
Cost Accountant , you'll be the financial navigator for our operations, providing insights that drive decision-making and continuous improvement. You'll be responsible for all aspects of cost accounting, from scrap and material costs to payroll analysis, engineering changes, and BOM audits. Your expertise will ensure that our production costs are in check, allowing us to maintain our competitive edge in the market.The Day-to-Day:Analyze and track
scrap ,
material costs , and
sales
variances.Manage
Purchased Price Variance (PPV)
and ensure accurate costing of
Engineering Changes .Conducted bill of materials
(BOM) analysis
and audits for accuracy.Oversee
payroll analysis , including
hourly payroll .Handle
physical inventory
and related journal entries.Participate in the
monthly close process , including preparing month-end
cost variance analysis .Perform
inventory account reconciliation
and support
forecasting
and
budgeting .Collaborate on
sales forecasts
and
cost forecasting
to support strategic planning.Prepare
ad-hoc reports
to assist with leadership decisions.Ensure
audit and compliance
for cost and payroll activities.Who YOU Are:Strategic thinker : You excel at analyzing data, trends, and forecasting.Collaborative partner : You leverage cross-functional relationships to drive continuous improvement.Analytical problem solver : You dive deep to identify root causes, find solutions, and recommend new ideas.What We're Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred.3-5 years of cost accounting experience, ideally in
manufacturing .Strong knowledge of
standard costing
and
account reconciliations .Proficient in
Excel (Macros) ,
Word , and
PowerPoint .Experience with
AS400/QAD
