Business Systems Analyst

Job Description
Position Summary:
The Business System Analyst position is responsible for assisting users, maintaining system workflows, troubleshooting workflow and system issues, and ensuring proper access to the online systems. They also assist in designing and testing system enhancements, modifying workflows to improve production, and expanding systems to serve new purposes. Analyzes all assigned business unit functions to determine application, integration and optimal use of information systems. Ability to work under general direction with minimal guidance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Provides day to day support, including but not limited to: Application training, trouble shooting and assistance for all systems.Responsible for ensuring users have the correct access to the systems they support.Responsible for providing analytical support for existing in house and vendor supplied support systems.Coordinates efforts with other IS staff to support IS initiatives.Establishes and maintains effective, consistent reporting to IS and Executive management as needed.Provides recommendations for IS initiatives that support the user community.Thorough knowledge and experience with system development methodology; with the ability to tie these into the use of department standards and policies and procedures.Will be required to communicate technical issues throughout all levels within the organization and within the departmentWill be required to be knowledgeable on HIPAA privacy and security regulations and able to assist in implementation and enforcement of these regulations and be able to incorporate them into the development of new and existing projects.Ability to manage own workloadPerforms other duties as necessaryThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $70,304 - $75,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Requirements
Education and / or Experience:
Experience with SQL Server Management Studio.Demonstrable understanding of SQL databases.Experience with EZ Cap preferred.Experience with Access Express preferred.Experience with Crystal reports or other reporting tools preferred.Experience with implementation and support of Document Management Systems preferred.Understanding and practice of development life cycle management.Requires minimum of 2 years experience in the support of the following functional areas in an IPA, Medical Group and/or HMO setting.EligibilityAccounts PayableProvider ContractingCapitationMedical ManagementClaims
Understanding of the various lines of business and their impact in processing through the various functional areas of an IPA, Medical Group and/or HMO.In depth knowledge of impact on development projects to infrastructure and ongoing support and security.Experience with clinical applications preferred.Understanding of Project Management methodologiesA bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or appropriate industry experience and/or certification or equivalent industry experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.In-depth knowledge, experience of the following Microsoft applications: Excellent problem solving and organizational skills MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Visio.Strong ability to communicate across entire organization in a professional manner.
