The CSU Alumni Association

is part of the Division of University Advancement and facilitates meaningful relationships between its 258,500 living alumni and the University. Using a combination of proven alumni engagement strategies and new, innovative approaches, the Alumni Association strives to celebrate the success of our alumni, build an emotional connection back to CSU, and help alumni to identify connections that are meaningful to them. In addition, the Association also utilizes the Iris & Michael Smith Alumni Center to serve as a place of pride and home base for alumni when they return to campus as well as a gathering space for alumni and student programs and events.

Position Summary

The Social and Digital Marketing Coordinator is responsible for helping advance the CSU Alumni Association brand and reach through the development and implementation of digital content, including social, web, and email. We are seeking a strong writer and digital storyteller who understands Ram Pride and can create content, often on tight timeframes, for our alumni - from recent graduates and young alumni, to alumni who identify as Aggies, as well as Rams. They will be responsible for content across social platforms, including dynamic, short-form videos, engaging photos and content copy, and strategy that creates space for community and conversation. In addition, they will contribute heavily to email marketing content development.

The ideal candidate has experience bringing ideas to life through various digital media and platforms, will represent the voice of the brand, has an artful eye, is up to date on social, digital, and email marketing trends, and will thrive in a collaborative environment. We're looking for someone willing to balance both content creation and management to effectively position and promote the Alumni Association and connect alumni back to CSU.

This position reports to the Director of Alumni Marketing and Communications and will work with other Alumni Association team members on the planning and execution of a digital marketing strategy. This position will infuse diversity and inclusion into all aspects of their role to contribute to inclusive excellence and to ensure colleagues and constituents of all backgrounds feel represented and included. The ideal candidate for this position will be a consummate professional and thrive in a fast-paced, metrics and results-driven environment. Required Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university by employment start dateExperience in social media management, marketing, communications, or related field.Demonstrates excellent written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to engage and effectively communicate with diverse audiences and alumniAbility to work non-standard hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain a driver's license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.Preferred Job Qualifications

Lead in the creation and distribution of visual media assets for social media (videos, photos, graphic design pieces, GIFs, written copy, etc.).Lead the daily management of the Alumni Association's social platforms and serve as primary administrator for social accounts.Drive critical new thinking behind creative content and channel utilization, focusing on how social audiences consume branded content and identifying opportunities for growth.Provide social media coverage at Association and University events. Some events occur on nights and weekends.Identify and provide enriching digital experiences for audiences to interact and engage with Colorado State.Foster an environment of creative partnership and collaboration within the Alumni Association and across the University.Monitor and respond to posted commentary/messages to ensure that alumni are served and heard, and the University/Association image is protected and brand is communicated consistently and appropriately across all channels.Use data and analytics to drive decisions around content and strategy.Embrace and develop a broad understanding of social media best practices and industry trends to continually evolve social and digital strategies to remain forward-thinking.Examine communications with a lens of diversity and inclusion for the audience. Serve on the University's Social Media Committee, as well as other communicator groups across campus.Collaborate with other CSU communicators on University-wide initiatives, as well as content opportunities from across campus.Provide email/social assets, assistance and strategy to campus partners, as related to Alumni Association initiatives.Manage $5,000 annual social media budget and comply with university financial policies.Exercise initiative, sound judgment, creativity and discretion in performing work assigned, anticipating and addressing concerns, responding to requests for information, and organizing and maintaining confidential files and records.Contribute to the total effectiveness of the department, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member.Understand and apply knowledge of University Advancement alumni database in a variety of facets, including analysis of demographic data, program/event effectiveness, and return on engagement/investment.
