As a GIS Analyst, you will play a key role within our Geographical Information System (GIS) Department, demonstrating a strong working knowledge of GIS processes and workflows. In this role, you will work independently to generate high-quality map deliverables, develop and maintain GIS applications, automate workflows using Python scripting, perform advanced GIS analysis, and serve as a mentor to other team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Produce custom GIS data deliverables that meeting client, industry and agency specifications including adherence to data schemas, ensuring data integrity and quality standards. Design, construct, and maintain geodatabases, ensuring data accuracy through rigorous QA/QC processes while supporting ongoing database enhancements and updates. Coordinate and manage the transfer of data between GIS and AutoCAD platforms, ensuring data is properly formatted, accurate, and adheres to quality standards. Develop, update, and maintain ArcGIS Online web applications, including but not limited to Survey123, Field Maps, Story Maps, Instant Apps, Web App Builder Applications, Operations Dashboards, and webhooks, ensuring user-friendly and efficient solutions. Automate and streamline workflows using Model Builder and Python scripting, driving operational efficiency through custom scripting solutions for repetitive tasks. Conduct spatial, tabular, and statistical analyses to support data-driven decision-making for various projects, such as data aggregation, transportation routing, predictive modeling, and impact assessments. Provide mobile GIS data collection support for field crews, review incoming field data for accuracy, and integrate field data into centralized databases or reports. Generate high-quality hardcopy maps, figures, and mapbooks that meet client and project specifications, including designing layouts and ensuring cartographic excellence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in multiple locations and industries, including survey, energy, transportation, environmental, geotechnical, and engineering, to ensure GIS data is appropriately utilized and understood across disciplines. Support internal GIS projects and initiatives, contributing to business operations through the development and implementation of GIS solutions that improve workflow efficiency and data management. Propose and implement innovative improvements to GIS workflows, standards, and practices to maintain a cutting-edge approach to geospatial technology and ensure continual department growth. Requirements Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or a related field. 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in GIS analysis, data management, or a similar role. Experience using Esri's suite of GIS tools, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, and associated extensions (e.g., Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst) Demonstrated experience in quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of Technician-level work, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with standards. Strong understanding of geospatial concepts and methodologies, including coordinate systems, georeferencing, digitization, data domains, and related processes. Excellent writing skills for documenting workflows, preparing client reports, and creating training materials. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within the GIS department, with a proactive approach to professional development. GISP certification, or active progress towards obtaining it, is preferred but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Esri's ArcGIS Online environment (e.g., Survey123, Web AppBuilder, Story Maps). Familiarity with spatial analysis techniques and Python programming is a plus. Strong organizational and task management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide colleagues effectively.
