Technical Business Analyst

*8am - 5pm EST**Hybrid with 3 days onsite*We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join a specialized knowledge management project. This project involves capturing critical knowledge from subject matter experts eligible for retirement and documenting it for the creation of a Searchable Logic Library. The role requires someone with a strong understanding of technical applications, with Hogan mainframe knowledge strongly desired but not required. Basic SQL skills are necessary to analyze data structures and support knowledge capture.Technical Business AnalystHoganSQLMetadataKnowledge managementJob DutiesWork closely with SMEs to extract and document technical and functional knowledge of applications, with an emphasis on systems like Hogan and others.Analyze data structures within the applications using basic SQL skills to support accurate documentation and knowledge capture.Act as a bridge between technical SMEs and the documentation team, ensuring accurate and clear translation of complex technical concepts into usable documentation.Participate in the planning and scoping sessions, defining the approach to capturing application knowledge.Collaborate with Data Analysts and Technical Writers in small teams to ensure all applications are adequately covered, focusing on application-level details rather than data flow or attribute-level specifics.Conduct interviews and knowledge-gathering sessions with SMEs to define, collect, organize, and validate knowledge in line with the project's methodology.Develop and maintain documentation on functional and non-functional requirements for systems across different layers (product/app, functional, infrastructure, platform support).Support the client and internal teams by providing insights into the application functionality and technical architecture, ensuring alignment with project goals.Track progress and report to the Engagement Manager on knowledge capture efforts.RequiredProven experience (5+ years) as a Business Analyst, with a focus on technical applications in the IT or financial services sector.Basic SQL skills to query databases and analyze data structures within applications.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work with complex systems and translate technical details into clear documentation.Experience working with cross-functional teams, including SMEs, technical writers, and data analysts.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain both technical and functional concepts effectively to non-technical team members.Familiarity with metadata and knowledge management processes.Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and stakeholders in a large-scale enterprise environment.DesiredKnowledge of Hogan mainframe systems is strongly desired.Prior experience working in large enterprises, particularly in the financial services or banking industry.Experience with knowledge management initiatives, particularly focused on capturing and documenting critical technical knowledge.Familiarity with methodologies such as Define, Collect, Organize, and Validate/Iterate for knowledge management projects.
