Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for an Manufacturing Intern at our Marinette, Wisconsin location. POSITION SUMMARY The function of the Intern is to develop the skills/capabilities necessary to perform as a long-term, fulltime employee within the manufacturing organization at Marinette Marine or within the Marine Group. In fulfilling this function the individual will assist the various disciplines and manufacturing supervisors with special assignments, becoming familiar with Marinette Marine manufacturing standards and enabling them to fulfill their internship for their school and/or resume, where this may be a requirement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and CDRL (Contract Data Requirements List) development and responding to the customer's comments. This may include cross functional team work with Safety, PP&C, Engineering, QA, and Program Management. Assist in the completion of craft testing, including start-up, dockside and sea trials as necessary. Microsoft suite support. Drawing checking or data processing. Other duties as determined by management. Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must have a high school diploma and currently be enrolled in a college or university program or recently graduated. Preference is given to those interested in the Construction field or enrolled in a technical or engineering school. Comprehension of Microsoft Office programs is required and preference is given to those with AutoCAD knowledge. SKILLS: Must have strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills. Must have strong organizational and time management skills. Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills. Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
