Registered Nurse - MS/Tele @ UW Medical Center - Montlake

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: MS/Tele Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Subject to low census requirements Experience: Minimum 2 years required, highly prefer travelers with experience in General Medicine Population and/or Orthopedics License: Compact License or WA single state license acceptable Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Experience with heparin/insulin drip and PCA pump- Adaptability to a variety of patients in a fast-paced environment- Ability to float within the hospital to other acute care units- EPIC experience is a plus but not required Job Description: - Provide care for a 28-bed unit serving patients on medicine service and post-operative Orthopedics.- Deliver quality care to a broad range of non-cardiac diagnoses for patients admitted via the emergency department.- Care for orthopedic post-op patients including total joint shoulder, spine, neurosurgery spine, and ortho tumor services.- Work in a unit with high acuity benchmarked against Step-down units, primarily a Medicine unit accepting Ortho Post-op patients.- Accommodate the workload that might vary depending on the Orthopedic Surgeon's schedule.- A teaching environment with a preference for candidates having experience in academic medical centers.- Ability to work weekend shifts as required, with four weekend shifts scheduled.
