Position Overview
As our
CNC Lathe Operator , you will work as part of a team that is responsible for reading and interpreting shop fabrication drawings to fabricate and assemble our products to our client's specifications. You will be responsible for operating one or more types of computer numeric-controlled production machines. You will select appropriate settings and adjusts as necessary and follow established quality and safety standards. This position reports to our Production Supervisor.
Position Responsibilities
Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixturesTransfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules, using computer network linksSet up and operate computer-controlled machines or robots to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic workpiecesModify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and save modified programsWrite simple programs for computer-controlled machine toolsMeasure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specificationsEnter commands, instructions, or specifications into equipmentProgram equipment to perform production tasksSet equipment controls to meet cutting specificationsAdjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials or productsWatching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properlyIdentifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutionsInspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defectsUsing computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, and process informationPosition Salary/Compensation

High School Diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical Certificate a plusMust have at least 3 years' experience as a CNC Lathe Operator in a Machine Shop or Manufacturing environmentStrong Mechanical Aptitude with knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceStrong Mathematics skills with knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applicationsComputers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programmingProduction and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsComputer Skills - Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, SAP, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel SpreadsheetsCNC Programing with Gibbs-CAM software a plus but not required as we will train on programmingWork schedule is Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
