Position Summary
As a Welder III you will be responsible for performing high-mix/low-volume manual TIG welding of stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum within a high-quality medical device manufacturing environment.
Duties
Set-up and operate welding equipment using prescribed methods and procedures to weld parts with acceptable tolerances and standards.Build weldments through manual layout and manual surface prep processes when required.Read and interpret welding blueprints including standard welding symbols, travelers, and other work instruction documents.Position parts to be joined using fixtures and other holding or positioning devices.Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.Assist in problem solving activitiesCapable of mentoring/ training Associate Welder & Welder ICapable of fitting, purging and welding complete joint penetration (CJP) weldsAbility to perform troubleshooting of welding equipment, materials and fixturing.Capable of performing visual welding inspection.Ability to interpret AWS standards and welding symbolsAbility to produce all product lines within the designated areaAssist Senior Welder with review of all standard work within designated areaCapable of mentoring/training Welder IIEducation Degree
High School Diploma or GEDRequired Experience
3-5 years of welding experience required2 years of experience working in a solid metal fabrication / machining environmentMust be able to use prescribed manual processes in TIG welding of stainless, mild steel, and aluminum.Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gages.Preferred Experience
Welding experience in flux core, MIG, stick, carbon steel, preferred.Certification in GTAW (TIG) preferredSkills
Must have strong math and troubleshooting proficiency and basic computer skills.Must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, including all standard welding symbols.
