We specialize in producing world-class Bordeaux varietals, with a case production of 1500, using only the finest estate-grown fruit. As a tight-knit and passionate team, we are committed to crafting exceptional wines that embody the unique terroir of Sonoma County.Role Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wholesale/Retail & DTC Sales Manager to join our family winery. This role is responsible for driving sales growth, enhancing brand visibility, and developing personal networks through the strategic implementation of web-based promotions, social media marketing, promotional events, and targeted outreach. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the wine industry, a passion for high-end hospitality, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, results-driven environment.Summary:Demonstrated leadership experience leading strategy and managing large, diverse teams10+ years of DTC or Hospitality experience requiredP&L management and annual strategic planning experience desiredHospitality, retail sales, wine industry marketing experience preferredCollege degree preferred, preferably in business, marketing, hospitality management, or equivalent degreeSkills and Knowledge:Strategic thinking – can see the bigger picture and has an innate curiosity to learn and try new things, comfortable making strategic choices for the businessProven leadership skills – ability to set clear goals and accountabilities, build team engagement, empower others and coach teamsExecuting with excellence -- comfortable managing through chaos and complexity, can manage priorities, make executional pivots and drive projects to completionStrong business acumen – understands how to deliver against annual financial targets and pull the right levers to keep the business on track against a planExpert communication skills – can build relationships across departments and isn’t afraid to have difficult conversations when requiredStrong analytical skills – can mine data from multiple sources to extract insights that help to fine-tune our strategiesConsumer-first mentality – can develop a point-of-view on how to improve consumers’ lives and can create programs & experiences to bring them in and keep them engagedUnderstanding of hospitality principles and the inner workings of DTC sales channels (wine club, tasting room, outbound sales, email/eComm, and events)Key Responsibilities:Long-Term Vision & Strategy:Create and communicate a long-term vision and financial plan for the DTC business.Develop annual business plan with clear financial targets and a tactical marketing plan that’s designed to deliver against our goals.Develop a consumer-centric hospitality strategy that attracts and retains new and loyal consumers and establishes the business as a pillar and hub in the community.Sales Strategy Execution:Develop and execute sales strategies for retail, wine club, and distribution channels to achieve growth targets.Manage and enhance the wine club membership program, focusing on attracting new members and ensuring exceptional experiences for existing members.Drive e-commerce sales by overseeing the winery's website, managing social media platforms, and creating engaging content.Promotional Events and Networking:Identify and participate in targeted promotional events, including wine functions, DTC events, and other relevant industry gatherings to generate sales leads.Build and maintain strong relationships with restaurants, distributors, brokers, and retail outlets, while expanding the winery's presence in existing and new markets.People Leadership & Development:Create a culture of accountability, fairness, teamwork, trust and transparency.Drive individual and team performance by communicating clear goals and setting expectations around winning behaviors that will contribute to success.Foster a vibrant team culture by promoting safety, well-being and a sense of belonging at work.Create growth and development plans for the DTC team and lead the team through the annual goal-setting and achievement cycle.Cross-Functional Collaboration:Connect with Brand Marketing to integrate brand messaging into all consumer touchpoints.Partner with Brand Manager and Director Operations to discuss issues/roadblocks across campuses and lead quarterly team meetings.Partner with Operations to maintain accurate inventory counts and SOPs.Consult and align with cross-functional counterparts on across Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing.
