We are looking for an experienced paralegal who is a self-starter with excellent time-management and organizational skills. Our Paralegals must perform substantive billable legal work under the direction of two or more attorneys in the office. Please note that applicants who do not follow the application instructions will not be considered for the position. **Key Responsibilities:Assist attorneys with all aspects of probate and estate administration, including drafting legal documents, preparing court filings, and managing case filesCommunicate with clients, probate courts, and other parties involved in the probate proceedingsConduct legal research and analysis related to probate mattersMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of case information and deadlinesAssist with scheduling appointments and managing attorney calendarsDraft Inventory and Appraisals, Accountings and other necessary documents for review by Probate Examiner and submission to Probate CourtsCommunicate with clients on a regular basis throughout the representation with updatesAssist attorneys in preparing cases for hearings.Maintain case management database.Daily accurate entry into the Case Management System with no more than 15% of total time allocated to administrative work.Requirements:
2+ years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm is required, focus on probate and estate administration is preferredAbility to reliably commute to the Murrieta, CA office requiredBachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferredA fundamental understanding of estate planning/administration concepts OR related experience is a bonus.Possess strong multi-tasking and time management skillsBe willing to perform administrative tasks as neededSuperb communication, organizational an interpersonal skillsBe a self-starter who is also detail orientedDisplay a positive attitudeProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases Be able to learn new software with easeHave excellent spelling, typing and grammar skillsAbility to type between 40-50 words per minuteAbility to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrate a high degree of discretion, confidentiality and integrity in the handling of personal client information, including following the Rules of Professional ConductExhibit a strong work ethic with high standards for quality and quantity of work
