Job Summary
The IT Technician Lead will serve as a recognized specialist who will support instructional technology in classrooms and other supported facilities. This includes leading the support for calls from classrooms, direct support of technology in classrooms, and supporting and training individual instructors in classrooms. Responsible for installing, monitoring, diagnosing, replacing or repairing classroom equipment to ensure a quick restoration of service or escalation as needed.
The IT Technician Lead will supervise Learning Spaces Operation non-exempt staff. Responsible for supervising the team's effort to address and resolve issues with current classroom equipment as well as new classroom technologies. Will recommend shift staffing to Learning spaces Supervisor and determine individual staff work schedules to ensure that Learning Spaces services and facilities are supported effectively, and that customer's needs are met. Responsible for leading the implementation operations of Learning Spaces and ensuring University Policies and Procedures are followed. Abide by and propose new or revised Learning Spaces Operations guidelines. Learning Spaces provides design, installation, and support for instructional technology across the entire campus. Technology and room design is constantly evolving to help support active learning styles. This is an opportunity to work with the latest instructional technology, and an entry into a growing and dynamic field.
This position will have working hours set as Monday-Friday 10am until 7pm daily.

Education and Experience Required:Associate degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology OR a related field of studyMinimum of two (2) years of IT desktop support or related IT experienceConsideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experienceExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong time management and organizational skills requiredSkills Needed:
Knowledge of:
customer service principles and the ability to resolve incidents effectively, including urgent and high impact classroom incidents.configuration of desktop computers, network setup, and troubleshooting.audio-visual technology, including microphones, speakers, and projection.
Capability to install classroom technology including computers, lecture capture hardware, projection lamps, microphones, recorders and cabling.Ability to:
maintain awareness of issues with current classroom technology as well as new classroom technologiesquickly diagnose and resolve hardware issues with classroom technology
Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organization skillsPreferred:
