A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night PCU RN's.12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.2 years of unit experience.Job Requirements

2 years of unit experience.BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way.A nurse on this unit is successful if they are a team player, are flexible and adaptable, and have good communication skills.Schedule Information

Night shifts available.Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / Smart Square online scheduling.Weekend Requirements: Every third.Holiday Requirements: Rotating with perm staff.Floating Requirements: Yes, to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients.Unit Specific Information

Beds: 40 beds with average daily census of 24.Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights.Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin.Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes.Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:12.RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides troubleshoot?: High flow.Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week.Additional Notes: Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanner, Focus on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medications.Additional Details

Department: PCU.Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure.Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian.
