Certification Details Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Job Details A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night PCU RN's 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed 2 years of unit experience Job Requirements BLS, ACLS, NIHSS 2 years of unit experience WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE/SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin RN must read and interpret tele strips Schedule Information 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / Smart Square online scheduling Weekend Requirements: Every third Holiday Requirements: Rotating with perm staff Unit Specific Information Bed count: 40 beds with average daily census of 24 Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? Yes, 1:12 RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? High flow Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? Yes Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 1 week Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way A nurse on this unit is successful if they are a team player, are flexible and adaptable, and have good communication skills Additional Details Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanner Focus on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medications Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
