12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteedShifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / Smart Square online schedulingWeekend Requirements: Every thirdHoliday Requirements: Rotating with perm staffUnit Specific Information
Bed count: 40 beds with average daily census of 24Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nightsCommon diagnoses/Types of patients: Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failureAre RNs required to titrate drips? YesIs there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? YesAre there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? Yes, 1:12RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? High flowAre there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? YesScrub Color/Dress code: Navy BlueHow many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 1 weekLooking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the wayA nurse on this unit is successful if they are a team player, are flexible and adaptable, and have good communication skillsAdditional Details
Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scannerFocus on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medicationsDifferent cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and SomalianRTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
