Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities. The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30).Periop/OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, requirements depending on FTE status must be metWeekends: Travelers are expected to work every other weekend with the potential need for consecutive weekendsCharge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resourcesFloating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care at both University and Methodist HospitalsSchedule Information

Our unit is a cardio-pulmonary unit, with an emphasis on pulmonary.Primary patient population includes cardiac medical, valve replacement, COPD, CHF, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, lung transplant (pre and post), trach-to-vent, neurodegenerative diseases requiring trach-to-vent, trauma (cervical spinal fx) requiring trach-to-vent, flu, TB, and COVID19 (only 3 on unit currently).Additional Details
Effective 9/1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers at IU Health campuses.Medical or religious exemptions will be accepted with a doctor's note provided.
