We are currently partnered up with a growing Manufacturing company in their search for a Quality Manager to lead their Quality department. This position will report into the COO and will manage a team of 3 direct reports. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of Manufacturing experience within a Quality role, ISO 9001 experience, and managerial experience. Description
The Quality Manager - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
Quality Management System (QMS):
- Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 or other relevant standards.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and certification requirements.
- Drive the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to address non-conformities and improve system effectiveness.
- Monitor and report on QMS performance, implementing improvement initiatives.
Quality Control:
- Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures and guidelines to minimize defects and ensure consistent product quality.
- Lead the implementation of statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and other methodologies to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Work with production teams to monitor process performance and resolve quality-related production issues.
Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure that product design, materials, and manufacturing processes meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to define quality requirements and ensure their integration into product specifications.
- Manage supplier quality activities, including audits, assessments, and qualification processes.
- Establish and manage quality documentation, ensuring records are maintained and easily accessible for audits and customer requests.
Continuous Improvement:
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for process optimization and driving initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
- Lead quality-related improvement projects, including Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Leadership and Communication:
- Supervise, mentor, and train the quality control and quality assurance team.
- Communicate quality metrics, challenges, and successes to senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Act as the main point of contact for customer complaints and manage the customer feedback and resolution process.
Profile
The Quality Manager - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in quality management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management standards.
- Experience with quality tools and methodologies such as SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
- Proven experience leading audits and implementing QMS improvements.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification is preferred.
Job Offer
The successful Quality Manager - Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:
- Base Salary of $90,000-$125,000 depending on experience
- 5% bonus
