Job Overview: The Legal Secretary will provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals in the personal injury department. This role requires a highly organized individual who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain confidentiality, and work well under pressure. The ideal candidate will have experience in personal injury law and be familiar with legal procedures and terminology.

Key Responsibilities:

Document Preparation: Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
Case Management: Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring that all documents are properly indexed and easily accessible.
Scheduling: Coordinate attorney and client schedules, including depositions, hearings, and meetings. Manage court dates and deadlines, ensuring timely filings.
Client Communication: Serve as the point of contact for clients, providing updates on case status, answering questions, and relaying messages to attorneys.
Filing and E-Filing: File documents with state and federal courts, including e-filing where applicable.
Administrative Support: Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, managing mail, ordering supplies, and maintaining office equipment.
Billing and Invoicing: Assist with tracking billable hours and preparing client invoices the management of personal injury cases from intake to resolution.
  • Maintain and update case files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely filing of court documents.
  • Communicate with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and other relevant parties.
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Coordinate discovery, including drafting discovery responses and requests.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff.
  • Manage and organize files, both physical and electronic.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, correspondence, and other related materials.
  • Schedule appointments, court hearings, and depositions.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and coordinate meetings.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including legal documents and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research as needed.
