Responsibilities
• Finding ethical solutions to legal matters
• Covering PIP recorded statements and PIP Examinations Under Oath
• Otherwise handling case management from inception to completion
• Staying informed about any current legislation and case law
• Building trustworthy relationships with clients
• Drafting pleadings, written discovery, and motions
• Arguing motions and covering depositions
• Marketing firm services in the community and as otherwise required
• Document and update the status of all case files in the case management system
• Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation
• Interview clients, supporting witnesses, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to collect information
• Delegate tasks and manage a team of litigation paralegals, legal assistants, personal injury paralegals, case managers, and legal secretary
• Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents
Qualifications
• Florida licensed attorney in good standing with Florida Bar, with no disciplinary or malpractice history
• Outstanding academic credentials
• Self-starter, driven by long-term career goals
• Superior oral and written advocacy skills
• Team oriented
• A bachelor's degree and a J.D. degree is required
• Superior research, negotiation, drafting, and communication skills are highly valued
• State license to practice law and State Bar Association membership is mandatory
• 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation or trial experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, or civil litigation practice areas is needed
• Knowledge of personal injury law/ tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil and family law, and medical malpractice is vital
