QA Engineer

Job Summary: mPulse Mobile is looking for a QA Engineer who will work with the internal teams to develop system requirements. The QA Engineer is a supportive member of the engineering team, responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the company's QA strategy. This includes working closely in partnership with Reliability, DevOps, and Application teams to assist with troubleshooting production issues. The QA Engineer is responsible for supporting non-technical team members with researching technical issues and helping troubleshoot applications and system issues. Duties/Responsibilities: Write, manage, and execute functional, integration, API, and user acceptance testing plans Test case planning based on business and functional/technical requirements Assist in exploratory testing and utilization of targeted manual testing to identify issues Participate in sprint planning and requirements review meetings Participate in troubleshooting applications and systems issues Identify, document, and track bug tickets in JIRA Communicate with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements Support non-technical team members with researching technical issues Assist with troubleshooting production issues in partnership with our Reliability Engineering team as well as DevOps and Application Development teams. Perform other duties as assigned Skills/Abilities/Experience: 1-3 years of work experience in software development and testing Have a strong understanding of QA methodologies, efficient testing strategies, and modern best practices Must have hands-on experience designing and executing functional, GUI, and API tests. Experience operating within an Agile/Scrum environment Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) knowledge Working knowledge of testing tools including ChromeDevTool, Postman, and TestRail. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent amount of experience Demonstrates ability to communicate and collaborate with product developers, direct managers, and engineering peers Possesses a basic understanding of mPulses business Strong communication skills written and verbal Strong collaboration skills experience working in a small-team environment Regularly has work reviewed by Senior QA engineers and applies feedback Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and sit for extended periods. Ability to lift 10 lbs. weight.
