Position Summary:
The Senior System Admin is proficient in all functions of the System Admin which are as follows: Implements, modifies, tests and administers modules and systems related to EPIC Radiant/PACS/Dictation system/Worklist Manager/Post-Processing applications. Serves as a key liaison between vendors, IT personnel, external customers, other application analysts, management and end users to resolve questions related to system functionality and design. Is recognized within their division as a technical expert and is sought out for their in-depth knowledge of a broad range of current technologies and how these technologies apply to Carle's environment. Provides technical leadership in system architecture, design principles, software development methodologies, and selection of information systems within their division. Works independently on projects and assignments within scope of ability and authority escalating more complex issues or those requiring leadership approval to the appropriate individual/s or team/s. Responsible and accountable for the on-time completion of daily work, tasks and projects, demonstrating a commitment to meet established deadlines and priorities.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Related Field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS EPIC Certification Radiant within 6 months. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Three (3) years experience in the clinical setting/healthcare arena or three (3) years in information systems. Direct experience in implementing and/or supporting a PACS /Radiology system is required. This position requires demonstrable project management experience. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
New version training (NVT) must be kept current. Nuance Powerscribe training required.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Must be willing to provide support in a 24/7 environment which will include rotating on-call support duties during off hours, weekends and holidays. Work schedules may include some after hours and weekend assignments based on project demands. Experience with any of these applications is desirable: Visage PACS, Merge VNA, TeraRecon, Clario, Powerscribe, AS, Orthoview, AW Server, 3D imaging applications, Radiant, Xeleris. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and PC related support. Requires strong analytical and technical skills to resolve routine to complex problems by following departmental procedures with minimal guidance and supervision. Able to plan, coordinate, and train departmental staff of systems workflows. Able to perform basic functions within all radiology systems (scheduling, tracking, image viewing, dictating). Able to run reports within systems. Analyze business and user needs to devise procedures to solve complex business issues while keeping the integrity of all interrelated systems. Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to work with users of all skill levels.
Essential Functions:
Evaluates requests and consults in design for new or modified computer programs, solutions, reports and interfaces to determine feasibility and compatibility with current system.
Identifies and recommends solution development for larger and complex projects and ensures best practice development. Formulates and develops plans at a high level and documents required steps to achieve stated requirements. Reviews plans with management/peers as appropriate.
Work independently on projects and assignments within scope of ability and authority escalating more complex issues or those requiring leadership approval to the appropriate individual.
Ensures the integrity and reliability of all radiology systems by assessing and resolving hardware and software issues.
Develops and maintains clear, understandable documentation to describe system development and modification, as well as troubleshooting. Update system and support documentation as necessary to reflect changes to programs, solutions, reports and interfaces.
Maintain an up to date understanding of the overall structure, interrelations, and operations of the foundation’s infrastructure.
Updates management, customers and others as appropriate on a timely basis regarding progress on assigned tasks, projects and issues, via written or oral reports.
Assists other IT teams with selection and provides technical evaluation of products/tools to ensure that the proposed solution adheres to enterprise-wide requirements, adapts to new requirements and changing technologies in order to meet business standardization protocols and objectives.
Provide guidance to System Admins to ensure best practices, standard methodologies and processes are executed.
Functions as a technical consultant to the health system, partnered regional hospitals, and maintains high service levels. Participates in system wide and partner initiatives to improve efficiency and reach institutional goals and objectives.
Participates on committees to establish technical standards, promote integration of data, and/or coordination of projects across work units.
Individualizing radiologist report templates and macros for optimal efficiency.
Obtain knowledge of Industry Standards and best practices through conferences and seminars.
