Overview
The IT System Admin is proficient in all roles taken on by the Imaging Informatics Analyst which are as follows: Implements, modifies, tests and administers modules and systems related to EPIC Radiant/PACS/Dictation system/Worklist Manager/Post-Processing applications. Serves as a liaison between vendors, IT personnel, external customers, other application analysts, management and end users to resolve questions related to system functionality and design. Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and revises documentation as needed. Performs all analytical tasks as assigned in the development of each program and secures the documentation, testing, and final analysis to ensure job and system efficiency. Performs team and integrated testing for all functionality of clinical systems and their interfaces. Functions as a resource for users. In addition, develops, implements, modifies, tests and administers more complex modules and systems related to clinical applications. Acts on modifications when warranted. Responsible and accountable for the on-time completion of daily work, tasks and projects, demonstrating a commitment to meet established deadlines and priorities.Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSBachelors Related Field or College Diploma Radiologic Technology preferred.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTSMust obtain Epic Radiant certification within 6 months of start date in position. New version training (NVT) must be kept current. Nuance Powerscribe training required within 1 year.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSThree (3) years experience in the clinical setting/healthcare arena or two (2) years in information systems. Direct experience in implementing and supporting a PACS or Enterprise Imaging system is preferred. This position requires excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to work with users of all skill levels. Competent to provide system analysis and considers the downstream/upstream implications of technology to the current business environment
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEMust be willing to provide support in a 24/7 environment which will include rotating on-call support duties during off hours, weekends and holidays. Work schedules may include some after hours and weekend assignments based on project demands. Exposure, knowledge, and\or understanding to any of these applications is desirable: Visage PACS, TeraRecon, Clario, Powerscribe, AS, Orthoview, AW Server, 3D imaging applications, EPIC Radiant, Xeleris. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and PC related support. Requires strong analytical and technical skills to resolve routine and complex problems by following departmental procedures. Able to plan, coordinate, and train departmental staff of systems workflows. Must be able to perform basic functions within all radiology systems (scheduling, tracking, image viewing, dictating).Responsibilities
Ensures the integrity and reliability of all radiology systems by assessing, making recommendations, and resolving hardware and software issues and requests. This includes determining feasibility and compatibility with the current systems while using best practices.Formulates and develops plans at a high level and documents required steps to achieve requirements. Reviews plans with management/peers as appropriate.Develops and maintains clear, understandable documentation to describe program development and modification, as well as troubleshooting. Update system and support documentation as necessary to reflect changes to programs, solutions, reports and interfaces.Updates management, customers and others as appropriate on a timely basis regarding progress on assigned tasks, projects and issues, via written or oral reports.Assists other IT teams with selection and provides technical evaluation of products /tools to ensure that the proposed solution adheres to the organization's requirements.May provide guidance to Applications System Analysts to ensure best practices, standard methodologies and processes are executed.Functions as a technical consultant to the health system, partnered regional hospitals, and maintains high service levels. Participates in system wide and partner initiatives to improve efficiency and reach institutional goals and objectives.Obtain knowledge of Industry Standards and best practices through conferences and seminars.
