About the role: The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for leveraging a variety of analytical tools to generate analyses and presentations to support conversations with internal and external stakeholder as well as perform original research, propose new approaches to problems, and contribute to an innovative team. The role is a perfect fit for someone who a) excels at translating raw data into compelling stories meant to spur action and drive decisions, b) has experience working with data and analytical tools, c) is not afraid to learn new tools and approaches, and d) can build relationships across a large organization. Essential Functions: Defines, implements, and monitors metrics that enable the business to see how it is performing on company and business objectives as well as on product and client performance targets. Collaborates with business and technical analysts, use case designers, and others to deliver insights and metrics that meet the use case business requirements that drive enterprise value Collaborates with teams on the development and design of business requirements for use cases Partners with organizational stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of Premise Healths product lines Delivers high value actionable insights and metrics by creating and/or performing analysis to meet or anticipate the needs of the business Works with data producer teams to translate business insights and metrics into technical requirements Assists in the creation and ongoing maintenance of dashboards that track key metrics to create actionable business insights Creates process improvement and implements best practices to enhance business intelligence, data delivery, and digital service needs Collaborates with data quality resources to explain impact and opportunities as shown through insights, metrics, and visualization Assists in the creation and ongoing maintenance of dashboards that track key metrics to create actionable business insights Coordinates with cross-functional partners to produce better business outcomes Works within various processes and governances to accomplish requested outcomes Researches market trends and opportunities using creative approaches to structure and synthesize discoveries into executable business intelligence strategies Creates and maintains business intelligence documentation Assists with publishing and maintaining business intelligence roadmaps Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Designs, develops and implements the most valuable business solutions for the organization. Prepares big data, implements data models, and develops database to support the business solutions. Produces innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets. Job Requirements: Bachelors degree in any of: science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, machine learning, or related equivalent experience More advanced degree (e.g., Masters, PhD) preferred Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience Proficient in statistical analysis, data manipulation, and visualization using programming languages (Python, R, SQL, etc.) and other tools (Spark, Databricks, Qlik, Tableau, etc.) Experience establishing or being part of standing up a new business intelligence practice preferred Experience working with various system data sets, Epic specifically preferred Experience using data to drive business outcomes and decisions Experience in healthcare analytics Preferred Experience: Expert in data mining, simulation, and/or predictive modeling/ forecasting Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and extract meaningful insights and metrics Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business personnel Ability to break down and understand existing metrics in use in the business and refactor/rebuild them using a new data platform and approach. Ability to effectively summarize results from analysis to a diverse set of audiences with varying background and technical skills Knowledge of the latest machine learning and data visualization tools and methods as applied in business contexts Strong background in math and statistics Thorough understanding of data mining, data operations, statistical approaches, predictive modeling techniques, methods, and formulas A logical thinker who is comfortable learning new programming languages and computing applications independently Thorough grasp of the importance of data quality, data pipelines and modeling processes Proven ability to leverage data originating from electronic health records to deliver actionable insights Work-life balance is at the foundation of how decisions are made and where Premise is headed. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California, Colorado, Washington, and New York compensation is $80,000 - $100,000.
