Project Architect at 450 Architects
Introduction: At 450 Architects, we are driven by our mission to create sustainable, innovative designs that enhance communities and promote environmental stewardship. For nearly three decades, we have focused on the fundamentals of green building designs —such as LEED, Greenpoint, Passive House, and the Living Building Challenge. Our commitment to sustainability is evident not only in our projects but also in our role as consultants, helping to draft guidelines and policies for the State of California and various Bay Area cities. We are seeking a talented and motivated Project Architect to join our team and help shape the future of sustainable architecture.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of architectural projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality and adherence to project timelines.
Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements, translating them into effective design solutions.
Prepare and present design proposals, drawings, and models to clients and stakeholders.
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants, to ensure project alignment and execution.
Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and resolve any design-related issues.
Manage project budgets and schedules, providing regular updates to stakeholders on progress and challenges.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to the professional development of team members.
Stay current with industry trends, codes, and technologies to enhance design practices and project outcomes.
Skills and Qualifications:
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in architectural design and project management.
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite.)
Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and team members.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
AIA membership and/or LEED accreditation is a plus.
Must live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
