TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Montgomery, Alabama, 36117 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Staff Float Pool MedSurg Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7:00 pm, 12-hour Nights, 36 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 18 months experience required License: Must have a valid Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Trach care experience - Post-surgical experience required (1 North Post Surgical) - Experience with surgical drains (JP drains), wound care, and pain management Job Description: - Work in a 176-bed acute care hospital with diverse patient types, including cardiac, post-surgical, and GU/Medical. - Assigned a home unit on the first day of orientation. - Provide care to patients with conditions including CHF, chest pain, diabetic foot ulcers, HTN, AFIB, GI bleed, sepsis, pneumonia, and more. - Patient ratios range from 1:5-6 depending on the unit. - Utilize skills in trach care, chest tube management, peg tubes, and cardiac non-titrable drips. - Work with technologies including Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing. - Collaborate with support staff including CNAs, receptionists, phlebotomy, and IV/VAT teams. - Participate in weekend rotations and holiday expectations as per policy. - Orientation includes 24 hours in the classroom and 24 hours on the unit. This position is open to first-time travelers with the required experience. No specific EMR experience is necessary, and telemetry experience is recommended but not mandatory.
