Position Summary:
The Chief of Staff, Office of the CEO plays a critical role in enabling communication, collaboration, and strategy execution to support the CEO and the Zoetis Executive Team (ZET).
Key Responsibilities:
Support the CEO and Executive team in ensuring effective and efficient executive team meetings and offsites by strategically planning agendas, logistics, and materials.
Take meeting minutes, track action items and follow-ups.
Be a thought partner and help draft important Board and other executive presentations and strategies.
Work with Global Meetings and Planning Associate Director to help organize and lead planning for all domestic and international trips for CEO and executive team members that include customer meetings, public affairs commitments, media, and colleague events.
Work with communications team to manage calendar of external speaking and media events.
Manage strategic long term and medium-term commitments for CEO to balance internal and Board commitments with external industry and other boards.
Liaise with executive assistant to update short term day to day calendar to accommodate last minute business issues or crises that require schedule changes.
Assist CEO in day-to-day communications including spearheading issue management, follow up email communications, CEO correspondence etc.
Ensure follow through on Zoetis Executive team action items and other follow-ups.
Lead and plan agendas for monthly Zoetis Executive Team Chief of Staff Network ensuring team alignment and development to achieve corporate goals.
Work with leadership to provide decision support to triage, distill and organize recommendations for CEO approval (anticipate requests for additional information, support with additional research or information analysis and surface key takeaways to ensure content is presented in a digestible format).
Ensure CEO calendar and events are focused on corporate strategic objectives and projects.
Serve as thought partner to the CEO on time management challenges to align with constantly evolving priorities.
Work closely with leadership team fighting fires when necessary.
Monitor progress of key initiatives and ensure that company commitments and priorities are being executed.
Ensure decisions are framed for CEO and the leadership team with compelling analytics, critical thinking, and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications (Training, Education, & Prior Experience):
Education:
Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree is preferred.
Experience:
8-10 years' business experience.
Strategy consulting or project management background preferred.
Proven track record of working closely with C-suite/VP-level management while also influencing across multiple levels and functions of an organization.
Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple projects successfully.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability Requirements:
Ability to build trust with executives and internal / external stakeholders of all levels.
Excellent communicator in written and verbal form.
Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information.
Strong written communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.
Detail-oriented organizational and process management skills to manage a wide range of incoming requests and responsibilities.
Sharp business judgment, ability to see the "big picture" and to prioritize.
Executive presence.
Ability to manage change and ambiguity with an action-orientation/drive – must thrive in a dynamic environment.
Strong work ethic, disciplined execution skills, willingness to do whatever it takes to deliver results.
Entrepreneurial, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and complexity and bias for action.
A good sounding board for others and ability to anticipate the needs of a busy executive and their direct staff.
Travel and In Office Requirements:
Mirror CEO schedule which includes:
50% travel including domestic and international travel.
When not traveling, in office Monday – Thursday in Parsippany NJ.
